last_castle

The Last Castle is the fourth and final castle that the player traverses on their way to Dracula. It is the most demonic of all four castles. Dracula resides here, as do all five of the classic Castlevania 1 bosses as well as Olrox. The six of them must be defeated in order to open the way to Dracula.

AREAS

The basic area structure of the castles consists of the following:

Main Corridor: Final Corridor. music: “Reincarnated Soul” from Bloodlines, then after all Dracula relics are collected, “Final Toccata” from SotN, which is timed to the gameplay wherein an obliterating light shines down the full length of the corridor.

- secret area (ninja courtyard): Mine of Judgement (music: multi-mix “Basement Melody” from HC/DoS, “Clock Tower Beat” from HC, “The Colossus” from OoE, and “Demon Castle Top Floor” from DoS), followed by the stairway to the Castle Keep (music: “Castle Keep - Stairway to the Clouds” from Cv64), followed by the Castle Keep (music: “The Discoloured Wall” from Bloodlines). boss: Dracula.
northwest buildings
northern buildings (30s): Twilight Zone, a bizarre area where gravity and geometry does not work normally. music: “Forbidden Area” from AoS.
center building/annex (13)
(wind tunnel?): Akmodan's Mausoleum. boss: Akmodan IV.
industrial building: Munitions Factory, where weapons of war are manufactured. music: “Iron Blue Intention” from PoR.
Villa (12/24): Olrox's Quarters, the tastefully elegant residence of one of Dracula's fellow vampires and top lieutenants, and with elements clearly indicating that it is built on Olrox enslaving his victims. music: “Dance of Pales” from SotN, possibly dual-mixed with “Inside the Castle” from Cv Legends. boss: Olrox.

Library
Laboratory: Disco Hall. music: Wandering Ghosts from SotN.
Tower: Clock Tower. Only accessible from below. music: dual mix of “Clock Tower” from AoS with “The Tragic Prince” from SotN. bosses: Slogra and Gaibon near the entrance to the tower, and Death on the roof of the tower.
Arena: The Demon Castle Coliseum. Enter from the top floor (if you can figure it out!) of the Twilight Zone. Upon entering, receive the Vampire Killer (and get a quicksave), then get dropped into an arena. You have to fight your way out. music: “VK2K5”, a remix of “VK2K2” from HoDiss. boss: like, every bat boss, ever, put together.
Tunnel: Psychedelic Tunnel, wherein magic courses and pulsates through the walls, floors, and ceilings in strange ways. music: “Curse Zone” from SotN.
Underground Waterway

Power Plant: Power Plant, music: “Top Floor” from AoS. boss: Security Crystal? after the boss, the Power Plant goes haywire and there is an escape sequence; music: “Jenka 2” from Cave Story. No collectible items are in the Power Plant except in an area opened by the subsequent explosion.
